Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is there an age requirement? Yes, attendees must be 18+ on or before the date of the event. IDs will be checked upon entry to the event. To consume alcohol, you must be 21+.
  • Is there a dress code? This is a masquerade ball, so you must wear your finest, most distinguished attire! Within the Autumn Kingdom of Hallowshade, all are welcome, be you human or fae, nobility or knight, bourgeoisie or peasant. But, whoever or whatever you are, please adorn yourselves in a manner befitting a ball. Masks are encouraged for this masquerade, but they are not mandatory.     Though we appreciate whimsy in all its forms, guests will not be permitted to go barefoot for safety reasons, so do bring a backup pair of comfortable shoes just in case your feet grow weary.

  • Is the venue accessible? Yes, the Sentinel is fully accessible. For accessibility questions, you may call them at (503) 224-3400.
  • Will there be food and drinks? We will offer light hors d’oeuvres, but we suggest eating a meal beforehand. There will also be a cash bar on-site serving delicious beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.
  • Can I bring my camera? We will have our own photographers at the ball and don’t allow professional cameras since they might confuse other guests, but you’re more than welcome to take photos on your mobile device!
  • Will I be photographed or recorded at this event? Yes. Your ticket purchase constitutes consent to be filmed and photographed. We will share photographs from the event with attendees; however, we do not send out any professional videos taken at the ball. Any content that our photographers might take of you at the ball may be used for marketing purposes by LeftField Media.
  • How do I enter the Costume Contest? You will be able to enter the Costume Contest when you arrive at the ball. There is no pre-registration. Your costumes/outfits must be over 50% handmade to enter.
  • I don’t have anyone to go with—can I go solo? Absolutely! This is a wonderful opportunity to wear something gorgeous and make some amazing new friends!
  • Do I need to know how to dance? You don’t! Our professional dance instructor will teach some simple dances at the ball itself. And for the rest of the evening, simply swaying and twirling around to the music is highly encouraged. And if dancing is not your thing, there are many other facets to the occasion that you may enjoy.
